NaPoWriMo Poem #22

I wanted to apologize,
I wanted to explain.
I went straight up to your door,
Placed my finger on the doorbell,
Then said “fuck it,”
Turned around,
And started walking home
Just as the rain poured down.

Although I wandered off
Until darkness settled in.
Drenched in cold rain,
Enough was enough;
I needed a roof.
Hopped on a bus,
Heading for home.
Stepped off back into
The blinding rain,
Ran across that street,
And bam-
Gone without a goodbye.
